Fulfilled – A Poem

I see you.

There.

I see you before me.

Stare.

You’re not real.

I sense you.

Wait.

I sense you around me.

Fate.

You’re still not real.

I feel you.

Numb.

I feel you beside me.

Come.

I can’t believe you’re not real.

I embrace you.

Mine.

I embrace you against me.

Pine.

Can it be real?

I want you.

Vow.

I want you inside me.

Now.

What is real?

I have you.

Tonight.

I have you within me.

Delight.

It feels so real.

And I fall asleep fulfilled…

How Do I Love Thee? – A Poem

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways…

I love you for the confidence you display in larger groups of friends.

I love you for your caring heart when you try to make amends.

I love you for your creativity when you are trying something new.

I love you for your honesty when you try to keep it true.

I love you for the way you smile when you see me walk your way.

I love you for the way you laugh when you’ve had a terrific day.

I love you for your sweet demeanor as you care for something small.

I love you as I watch you growing ever so big and tall.

I love you for the way you strut your stuff, and all your crazy wittiness.

I love you for your brilliant mind and all your lovely prettiness.

I love you as you dream away, sleeping so quiet and still.

I love you in ways you can’t understand, though I know someday you will.

You are my girl, and I am your Mommy. We tell each other so,

and nothing will change the bond between no matter how much you grow.

Happy 9th birthday to my beautiful daughter. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways…
